The nose is treated to scents of glazed peach tart, tropical fruits and spiced vanilla custard.
Luscious, rich and gentle in the mouth, this vintage offers flavours of apple, pineapple, lemon, coconut and hazelnut with traces of caramel and mineral on the finish.
Tenderly raised grapes sourced entirely from Proprietor Martin Malivoire’s personal chardonnay block were harvested between the 1st and 10th of September as sugars reached the desired 21.3° Brix. After whole-cluster pressing the juice was transferred to French oak barrels, 28% of which were new, for primary and malo-lactic fermentation followed by 17 months’ ageing.
The wine was bottled in March 2014 at 13.5% alcohol, 1.9 grams per litre residual sugar, 5.9 grams per litre titratable acidity and 3.24 pH.
Only 200 cases were produced.
