A Gamay dictionary is what we affectionately call our series of distinct and limited micro-cuvees – now in their third vintage.
Born from the esteemed Wismer-Foxcroft vineyard on the Twenty Mile Bench, this gamay is ready to enjoy now, yet will reward cellaring into the mid 2020’s.
This gamay’s distinctive personality, rustic and complex, proclaims itself as the nose draws red berries plum and raisin, accented by savoury herb and resin tones. A taste finds it fresh and vibrant with flavours of cherry, cranberry and spice.
Grape clusters were hand-selected according to our Winemaker’s criteria on the 19th of October. Sugars averaged 20.7° Brix.
Vinification: The newly harvested grapes fermented, half as whole-berry clusters and half crushed, in alternating layers, in stainless-steel tank. After seven months to age in neutral French oak, 213 cases were bottled in June 2022.
Enjoy now to 2026.
