Deft aromas of cherry, blue plum, dark berries and pepper that carry through the palate. The balance of healthy tannins and acidity make this an age-worthy Gamay.
Grape clusters (100% Gamay) were hand-selected according to our Winemaker’s criteria on the 5th of October. Sugars averaged 22.2° Brix.
The newly harvested grapes fermented, half as whole-berry clusters and half crushed, in alternating layers, in stainless-steel tank. After press, the wine aged for six months in neutral French oak barrels.
155 cases were bottled in May 2021. Enjoy now to 2023.
At the time of bottling, alcohol measured 13%, residual sugar: 0 grams per litre titratable acidity: 6.8 grams per litre and pH: 3.483

Serve near 14°C with rosemary pork tenderloin or barbecued foods.
This is, for my palate, the best Gamay Malivoire has produced. Deep ruby-purple in colour; the nose is minerally, cherry and plum with a light floral note; medium-bodied, dry, wonderfully balanced with richly extracted flavours of cherry and red plum with just a touch of oak to broaden the palate. Reminiscent of a cru Beaujolais. (Tony Aspler)
