2022 Gewürztraminer
Winemaker's Notes:
A winsome nose proposes blossoms and perfume, accented by passion fruit, honey and apricot. Honey and tropical fruit linger as it streams over the palate, smartly dry, bursting with pineapple, lychee and ginger.
Estate Vineyard clusters were hand-picked October 3rd as grape sugars averaged 23.3° Brix.
After the grapes were destemmed, the juice and skins were held for a 36-hour cold-soak. The must was pressed for fermentation and settling in stainless steel, producing only 69 cases for bottling in February 2023.
Dry: 2.5 g/L residual sugar
At the time of bottling alcohol measured 13.5%, residual sugar 2.5 g, titratable acidity 5.25grams per litre and pH 3.82 .
Production of less than 70 cases.
Vegan friendly.
Food Companions:
Chilled to 9° to 12°, beside foods with a touch of sweetness and heat. Sichuanese dishes and traditional German fare like pork chops or sausages with sauerkraut are ideal partners.
When to drink: now through 2028.
