This strapping chardonnay is everything you’d expect from the vintage. Aromas are insistently vanilla, coconut, mandarin orange and pineapple. A taste is mouth-filling, generous and firm, and flavoured of coconut, creme caramel, lemon and lime.
Harvested by hand from our Estate Vineyard on October 15th as grape sugars averaged 23° Brix.
The wine fermented in American oak barrels, almost a third of which were in first use. A further eight months in barrel followed, after which the wine was racked to a new French oak tun. Bottling followed in August 2017, after another two months of aging.
At the time of bottling, alcohol measured 13.5 %; residual sugar, 1.7 grams per Litre, titratable acidity, 4.2 grams per Litre and pH:3.86.
Only 130 cases were produced.
Food Companions: Serve near 10° C with poached or grilled fish, roast turkey or fettuccine with cream sauce.
