Refreshingly bright and crisp with aromas and flavours tracing strawberry syrup, ripe banana, candied cherry and green apple leading to a fresh, fruity finish.
Pressed from grapes grown specifically for this wine, picked as grape sugars averaged 20.5 ° Brix.
The berries were destemmed, crushed, and sent to tank. The mixture of crushed grapes and free-run juice cold-soaked for 24 hours before pressing. Cold-fermentation and stabilization were completed in stainless steel before bottling in February 2019.
At the time of bottling, alcohol measured at 12%, residual sugar 3.0 grams per litre, titratable acidity 5.6 grams per litre and pH 3.52.
Chill to near 10° C and serve with chicken wings, barbecued poultry or white pizza.
Magnums are only available through the winery directly.
2018 Ladybug Rosé 88 points - John Szabo, WineAlign.com Lady Bug is the entry point to Malivoire's strong rosé portfolio, designed for maximum appeal, but I find this 2018 to be particular good, a step above previous examples. The blend is the usual cabernet franc, gamay and pinot noir, made in a deeply-coloured and fruitier style, but this vintage comes across as drier and fresher, more savoury than it has been in the past. I like the forward strawberry fruit and the gently herbal tinged imparted by the cab franc, while length and depth are more impressive than usual. The best Lady Bug in recent memory. Tasted April 2019.
