Winemaker's Notes
The spicy, earthy nose has fruity aromas of cherry extract, blueberry and strawberry. Smoothly textured with silky tannins, a taste finds sour cherry, blackberry, raspberry and cranberry with a delicately toasty aftertaste.
Sourced September 13th and 14th from the Moira and Mottiar Vineyards as grape sugars averaged 20.8° Brix.
After primary fermentation in stainless-steel vats, the wine was divided to age in sixteen older 228-L barrels and one new barrel (or 6%), all of French oak. After nine months, it was bottled in August 2019.
At the time of bottling, the wine was measured at 12% alcohol, 0 grams per litre residual sugar, 5.7 grams per litre titratable acidity and 3.75 pH.
Only 424 cases were produced. Enjoy now to 2024.
