An effusively perfumed nose combines dark berry fruitiness and spicy potpourri with earthier hints of resin and straw. Exhibiting great tension and depth, the wine tastes of ripe dark cherry, cherry compote and subtle, toasty oak-vanilla.
Picked by hand from the Mottiar Vineyard on September 29th as grape sugars averaged 22.1° Brix.
The grapes were hand-sorted and divided for a two-week fermentation, 90% in concrete and 10% in stainless steel, using indigenous yeast. Two-thirds of the grapes were de-stemmed, crushed, and co-fermented with a one-third portion of whole clusters. The wine was transferred to neutral French oak barrels to age for 10 months.
Dry: 0 g/L residual sugar
At the time of bottling, July 2020 , the wine was measured at 12.5% alcohol, 0 gram per litre residual sugar, 6 grams per litre titratable acidity and 3.7 pH.
Only 84 cases were produced. Enjoy now to 2026.
Vegan friendly. Certified Sustainable.
Serve near 14° C with lamb navarin, roast chicken, roasted beets, mushroom risotto or crispy duck.

Light ruby in colour; raspberry and tealeaf nose with oak spice; medium-bodied, dry, light and lace-y on the palate with ripe raspberry flavour and crisp acidity. A well-balanced wine.
