2020 Demo Series Gewürztraminer

Limited quantity available of the 'Insiders Wine Club' Demo Series wine - the new series of wines under the “Demo” designation, described by our winemaking team as a project to introduce intriguing new characteristics to wine through different and imaginative winemaking techniques.

Winemaker's Notes:

The nose of this intriguingly amber-gold-hued wine is predominantly floral.  Lavender and rose petal scents give way to pear, date and fruit cocktail  flavours.  This rare and original interpretation of Gewürztraminer has a weighty, pithy mouthfeel and finishes extraordinarily long and clean.

Estate Vineyard west block clusters were hand-picked October 8th as grape sugars averaged 22° Brix.

Once de-stemmed the crushed grapes, including skins, were conveyed to ceramic “orbs” for an extended cold-soak. 

The wine was pressed after 17 days, producing 50 cases for bottling in April 2021.

At the time of bottling alcohol was measured at 12.5%, residual sugar at 0 grams per litre, titratable acidity 5.2 grams per litre and pH at 3.66

Dry: 0 g/L residual sugar
