2022 Wismer-Foxcroft Gamay
Last Chance...
Born from the acclaimed Wismer-Foxcroft vineyard on the Twenty Mile Bench, this gamay is ready to enjoy now, yet will reward cellaring.
Winemaker's Notes:
The nose draws cherry, raspberry jam, kalamata olive and cassis. The texture is juicy with a soft salinity and flavours suggest sour cherry, blackcurrant and purple plum, leaving a spicy hint of sage on the finish.
Grape clusters reaching 21.3° Brix were picked by hand at the Wismer Foxcroft site on the 8th of October.
The newly harvested grapes fermented, half as whole-berry clusters and half crushed, in alternating layers, in a stainless-steel tank. After six months in neutral French oak, 100 cases were bottled in May 2023.
Enjoy now to 2027.
At the time of bottling, alcohol measured 12%, residual sugar: 1 grams per litre titratable acidity: 7.1 grams per litre and pH: 3.4
