#4 - SUSTAINABILITY
As long as anyone can remember, Martin has talked about the importance of the "three-legged stool". It's his favourite metaphor for a viable winery, based on the premise that for long-term success a winery must be sustainable on three key considerations.
The first is economic; the winery must be profitable, and offer a product people want.
The second is social; the winery must live up to a positive public image and customers must feel good about buying the product.
The third is environment; the winery must maintain healthy vineyards, and a healthy workplace.
Malivoire is among the first Ontario wineries to have achieved Sustainable Certification. Over the years and through different trials, the one constant has been our resolve to run an environmentally respectful farm.
