Credit to WineAlign, this year’s NWA was a huge undertaking.  A panel of 26 judges assembled in Penticton B.C. to evaluate almost 21-hundred entries submitted by 260 Canadian wineries.  To appreciate how this event has grown, consider that in 2001, the original event’s eight judges scored 260 wines from 71 wineries.  In its 20 years the NWA has seen an almost four-fold rise in participating wineries and an eight-fold rise in submissions. 

As for Malivoire, we are proud to proclaim our results.  Here are the details of our winners: 

 

Five Bronze Medals: 

Che Bello sparkling, 

2020 Ladybug Rose, 

2020 Vivant Rose, 

2020 Wismer Foxcroft Gamay 

2018 Stouck Farmstead Red. 

 

Eight Silver Medals:  

Bisous Brut sparkling,

2020 Rose Moira,

2020 Small Lot Gamay,

2020 Genova Gamay,

2019 Mottiar Chardonnay,

2020 Moira Chardonnay, 

2019 Small Lot Pinot Noir

2019 Mottiar Pinot Noir. 

 

One Gold Medal: 

2020 Small Lot Chardonnay. 

 

Finally, Malivoire achieved three Platimum Medals

2020 Demo Analog,

Sparkling Bisous Rose (“powerful and intense” - Sharon McLean) 

2020 Gamay Le Coeur (“classic varietal-stylistic expression” - John Szabo). 

 

In all, 17 of our wines came back with awards, out of 20 that were submitted.
