Winemaker's Notes:

Deeply fragranced of dark cherry, blueberry, strawberry and cranberry, dressed by sassafras, vanilla and earthy undertones. This warm-vintage gamay is firm and fleshy, tasting of cherry jelly, ripe raspberry, orange zest and a ginger garnish.  Enjoy now to 2026.

Composed of grape clusters hand-picked at sugar average 22.1° Brix, 17% from the Malivoire Estate south gamay block picked October 3rd and 83% from the north block,
picked October 7th.

Divided by site, the grapes were sorted, destemmed, and fermented in two concrete tanks. The wines were blended after pressing, to age in mature (average 12-year-old)
300-Litre barrels. After seven months, the wine filled 150 cases in May 2023.

At the time of bottling, alcohol measured 12.5%, residual sugar: 1 grams per litre titratable acidity:  7.1 grams per litre and pH: 3.52

Dry: 1 g/L residual sugar

Vegan friendly.

A bit resinous to be honest and yet a gamay of spirit, black raspberry fruit and also some sour-acetic edginess. Crunchy as well though within reason. Sing-song gamay, highs and lows, never resting on one note or a simple plan. A bit swarthy but so curious, well made and grooving with a kind of driving, wicked bass-line Reggae pulse, especially like Marley’s Concrete Jungle. In the end this is a gamay of both metaphor and real place. “What do you got for me?” Drink 2023-2026. Tasted blind at NWAC2023, June 2023.

Nice power here with watermelon seeds, lipstick, unripe raspberry, and dense fridge-cold cherry. Lovely.

Open and natural, like concrete or clay style, all natural. Modest depth at the end. To be enjoyed young on the fruit. Tasted blind at the NWACs 2023.
