Winemakers Notes

Bursting with aroma, a glass reveals Maraschino cherry, peach, sugared candy drops and a scent of newly-mown grass.  It’s richly fluid in the mouth, and tasting of strawberry jam, raspberry, green apple and melon.

Hand-picked on the cool morning of September 28th and 10th from our original Moira Vineyard.  Grape sugars averaged 20.8° Brix.

Vinification:
Whole grape clusters were gently pressed for minimal contact between juice and skins.  After briefly chilling in a wide-profile stainless-steel tank (resembling a dairy tank) for optimum lees contact, the juice transferred to a standard steel tank for cool fermentation.  The finished wine was bottled in February 2024.

Enjoy now to 2027.

DRY:  0 g sugar

At the time of bottling, alcohol measured 12%; residual sugar: 0 grams per litre; 6.2 titratable acidity:  3.32 grams per litre pH:

David Lawrason 90 points,
This is a pale pinot noir-based rose from older vines in the original Moira Vineyard at Malivoire. It is has a nicely lifted nose of pink grapefruit, rhubarb... and fresh herbs. It is light to medium weight, with nervy acidity ... Quite intense on the palate. I kept thinking of Mediterranean salads as an ideal match.

Michael Godel 90 points,
...Truly pale Provençal style that lives on, almost old school at this point with French intent and in this case it is for good reason. Crisp, crunchy ...  and extremely serviceable with the right chill. A Rosé so very dry and savoury, so much so that the benches of an escarpment will feature prominently in thoughts of assessment ... Drink 2024-2026
