We are proud to offer Smoke and Barrel Spices.  Created by Chef Tim MacKiddie, these spices are often used in the culinary food pairings that we feature at our winery events.

The recipe for many of these amazing food pairings are on our Recipe Blog posts.

While these spices have been available in our wineshop for several season, now you can easily add these spices to your next wine order. 

Notes from S&B about their spices:


Wine Country Smoked BBQ Spice Rub - This spice rub is extremely versatile in many recipes and is our mainstay rub. It's carried by a blend of paprikas, and we add subtle spicing that you can find in barrel-aged wines such as anise, clove, nutmeg, white peppercorn, and black peppercorn.

Porcini and Rosemary Seasoning Salt - We begin the seasoning salt with coarse flake, kosher sea salt and then add a blend of dried porcini powder, dried shiitake powder and rosemary. This seasoning is an UMAMI BOMB, which is great with white wines that have god structure and red wines that have seen some oak aging... I also have to note, this is one of my favourite shakes on popcorn!

Citrus, Coriander and Charred Onion Rub - This rub was created around my love of bright flavours with aromatic white wines, sparkling wines and roses. We blend lemon peel, tellicherry peppercorn, toasted coriander and charred onion powder to create a very vibrant seasoning. That said, there is a lot going on in this rub! As it hits your palate you'll experience the intermingling of salty, sweet and tartness, before you're left with exciting notes of lemon peel, charred onion and toasted spices.
