2018 Stouck Farmstead RED - LIBRARY RELEASE

Picked October 24th at the Stouck Family Vineyard as grape sugars averaged 23.1° Brix.

Components were crushed and divided for primary fermentation, some going to a 1,000-Litre oak cask and the rest to 228-Litre barriques.  American oak made up 60% of the barrels, the rest being French oak, and 30% of the total were in first use. 

The wine was blended after 17 months and bottled in April 2020. 

When the finished wine was bottled, alcohol measured 12.5%, residual sugar 0 grams per litre, titratable acidity 6.1 grams per litre and pH 3.75.

Best enjoyed near 17° C.  Pairs well with BBQ burgers (beef or veggie) grilled steak, short ribs or a root vegetable stew!
